Air Fryer Fruit Scones
Air fryer fruit scones are a quick and convenient way to enjoy a classic teatime treat without heating up a full oven. They develop a golden exterior while remaining soft and tender inside. The circulating hot air helps the scones rise nicely, creating a light texture that pairs wonderfully with butter, jam, or cream.
These scones are made with simple pantry staples such as flour, butter, sugar, milk, and dried fruit. Raisins and sultanas are traditional choices, but you can also use dried cranberries, chopped apricots, or mixed dried fruit for added flavor and texture. The recipe comes together in less than 15 minutes of preparation time.
Using an air fryer reduces cooking time compared with conventional baking. The compact cooking space allows the scones to bake evenly while retaining moisture. This makes the recipe ideal for small batches, quick breakfasts, afternoon snacks, or last-minute guests.
The finished scones have a delicate sweetness and a rich buttery flavor. They are best enjoyed warm, split in half and topped with fruit preserves or a little butter. For a more indulgent presentation, serve them with whipped cream and fresh berries.
Nutritionally, fruit scones provide carbohydrates for energy, some protein from milk and flour, and a moderate amount of fat from butter. The dried fruit contributes natural sweetness, fiber, and small amounts of vitamins and minerals. While they are a treat, they can fit into a balanced diet when enjoyed in moderation.
