Air Fryer Parmesan Crusted Cod

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets (about 6 oz / 170 g each)
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Lemon wedges, for serving
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cod
    • Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels.
    • Season lightly with salt and black pepper.
    • Brush each fillet with lemon juice and a little olive oil.
  2. Make the Parmesan Crust
    • In a bowl, combine Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, garlic, dried parsley, paprika, and black pepper.
    • Mix until the crumbs are evenly coated and slightly moist.
  3. Coat the Fish
    • Press the Parmesan breadcrumb mixture firmly onto the top of each cod fillet.
    • Make sure the crust sticks well.
  4. Preheat the Air Fryer
    • Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Air Fry the Cod
    • Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil.
    • Place the cod fillets crust-side up in the basket.
    • Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 8–12 minutes, depending on thickness, until the fish flakes easily and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
  6. Serve
    • Garnish with fresh parsley.
    • Serve hot with lemon wedges, roasted vegetables, fries, or a fresh salad.
