Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or 6–8 chicken tenders)
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ½ cup seasoned breadcrumbs (or panko)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp water
- Cooking spray or olive oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Prepare the coating
- In a shallow bowl, mix Parmesan, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- In a second bowl, whisk together the egg and water.
- Coat the chicken
- Pat the chicken dry.
- Dip each piece into the egg mixture, then press into the Parmesan mixture until fully coated.
- Air fry
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket.
- Arrange chicken in a single layer, leaving space between pieces.
- Spray the tops lightly with cooking spray.
- Cook
- Air fry for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Chicken is done when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the crust is golden brown.
- Serve
- Let rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.
- Great with roasted vegetables, salad, pasta, or marinara sauce.
Extra-Crispy Tip
For an even crispier crust, use panko breadcrumbs and add 1–2 tablespoons of melted butter to the Parmesan-breadcrumb mixture before coating the chicken.
