Cheesy Beef Lahmacun Roll-Up

Ingredients
Filling & Base
- 1 large thin flatbread or lavash (or 2 thin pizza dough sheets)
- 1/2 lb (225g) lean ground beef or lamb
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1/2 small onion, finely minced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Assembly & Topping
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella or Turkish kaşar cheese
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep Meat Filling: In a bowl, mix ground beef, minced red bell pepper, onion, garlic, tomato paste, paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley until evenly combined into a spreadable texture.
- Spread & Roll: Lay flatbread out on a clean surface. Spread the raw beef mixture thinly and evenly across the entire surface. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.
- Roll Up: Carefully roll the flatbread tightly into a long log or cylinder.
- Prep for Baking: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the roll onto the baking sheet, brush the top generously with beaten egg wash, and sprinkle with the remaining shredded cheese.
- Bake & Serve: Bake for 18–20 minutes until the meat inside is fully cooked through, and the pastry on top is golden-brown and crispy with melted cheese. Garnish with fresh parsley and slice into sections before serving warm.
