All the classic Philly cheesesteak flavors—juicy beef, peppers, onions, and melted cheese—baked into a rich, low-carb casserole. No bread, but all the satisfaction.

Ingredients

Meat Base

  • 600 g thinly sliced beef steak
    (ribeye, sirloin, or shaved beef works best)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Vegetables

  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 200 g mushrooms, sliced (optional but recommended)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Creamy Cheese Layer

  • 200 g cream cheese, softened
  • 100 ml heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce (optional, check low-carb version)
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Cheese Topping

  • 200–250 g shredded mozzarella
  • 100 g provolone or cheddar (optional mix for flavor)

Optional Add-ins

  • Chili flakes (for heat)
  • Pickled jalapeños
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Preheat oven

Set oven to:

  • 190°C (375°F)

Lightly grease a baking dish.


2. Cook vegetables

Heat olive oil or butter in a large pan over medium heat.

Add:

  • onions
  • bell peppers
  • mushrooms

Cook for:

  • 6–8 minutes

until softened and slightly caramelized.

Add garlic and cook:

  • 30 seconds.

Remove from pan and set aside.


3. Cook beef

In the same pan, increase heat to medium-high.

Add sliced beef.

Season with:

  • salt
  • pepper
  • garlic powder
  • smoked paprika

Cook:

  • 2–4 minutes

until just browned.

Do not overcook (it will bake later).


4. Make creamy mixture

In a bowl mix:

  • cream cheese
  • heavy cream
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • onion powder
  • black pepper

Whisk until smooth and creamy.


5. Combine filling

In a large bowl or directly in baking dish mix:

  • cooked beef
  • cooked vegetables
  • creamy cheese mixture

Stir until evenly coated.


6. Assemble casserole

Spread mixture evenly in baking dish.

Top with:

  • mozzarella
  • provolone or cheddar (if using)

7. Bake

Bake uncovered for:

  • 20–25 minutes

until:

  • cheese is melted
  • top is golden and bubbling

Optional: broil for 2–3 minutes for extra browning.


8. Rest & serve

Let casserole rest:

  • 5–10 minutes

before serving to set.
