Air Fryer Poached Eggs

Air Fryer Poached Eggs

Poached Egg can be surprisingly easy to make in the air fryer with just a few simple ingredients and ramekins. These eggs come out with tender whites and soft, silky yolks, making them perfect for toast, avocado toast, breakfast bowls, salads, or eggs Benedict. Using the air fryer removes the hassle of swirling boiling water while still creating delicate poached-style eggs.

The key to successful air fryer poached eggs is using small oven-safe ramekins filled with hot water. The gentle circulating heat cooks the eggs evenly while the water keeps the texture soft and moist. This method is especially convenient because it requires very little hands-on effort and works well for making multiple eggs at once.

One of the best things about this recipe is how customizable the yolk texture can be. Slightly shorter cooking times create soft, runny centers, while an extra minute or two gives you firmer yolks. Since air fryer temperatures can vary slightly, checking the eggs near the end of cooking helps achieve your preferred consistency every time.

Air Fryer Poached Eggs are ideal for quick breakfasts, healthy meals, or elegant brunch dishes without the stress of traditional poaching. Pair them with toasted bread, sautéed spinach, smoked salmon, or roasted vegetables for a balanced and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • Cooking spray or butter
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  2. Lightly grease 2 small ramekins with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Pour 1/4 cup hot water into each ramekin.
  4. Carefully crack one egg into each ramekin.
  5. Place the ramekins into the air fryer basket.
  6. Air fry for 5–7 minutes depending on how runny or firm you prefer the yolks.
  7. Carefully remove the ramekins from the air fryer using tongs or oven mitts.
  8. Use a slotted spoon to lift the eggs out of the water.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper before serving.

Tips

  • Use hot water to help the eggs cook more evenly.
  • Check the eggs at the 5-minute mark for softer yolks.
  • Smaller ramekins help the whites hold their shape better.
  • Add a splash of vinegar to the water if desired for slightly firmer whites.
  • Cover loosely with foil if the tops cook too quickly.
  • Use fresh eggs for the best poached texture.
  • Serve immediately while warm and soft.
  • Great on toast, English muffins, grain bowls, or salads.
