Onion and Honey Syrup
Ingredients
- 1 large red onion
- 3–4 tablespoons honey
Instructions
- Peel and thinly slice the onion.
- Place a layer of onion slices in a clean jar.
- Add a thin layer of honey.
- Repeat the layers until all the onion is used.
- Close the jar and let it sit for 6–12 hours (or overnight).
- The onion will release liquid, creating a syrup.
How to use
- Adults: 1 tablespoon as needed.
- Children over 1 year old: 1 teaspoon as needed.
- Do not give honey to infants under 1 year.
Onion Tea
Ingredients
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cups water
- Optional: ginger, lemon, or honey
Instructions
- Boil the water.
- Add the onion and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
- Strain.
- Add lemon or honey to taste and drink warm.
Note
Onions are nutritious and contain antioxidants and beneficial plant compounds, but many of the health claims in the image (such as “detoxifies the body” or “relieves flu”) are overstated or not strongly supported by scientific evidence. They can be part of a healthy diet but are not a cure for infections or chronic diseases.
