Baked Apple Fritters (Quick & Easy)

Servings: 8 fritters
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Air Fry Time: 10–12 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tbsp melted butter or vegetable oil
  • Cooking spray or a little oil for greasing

Optional Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Batter

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3 minutes.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped apples.

Step 2: Shape the Fritters

  1. Line the air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of batter for each fritter onto the basket, leaving space between them.
  3. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.

Step 3: Air Fry

  • Temperature: 180°C (350°F)
  • Time: 10–12 minutes
  • Flip the fritters carefully after 6 minutes, then continue cooking until golden brown and cooked through.

Step 4: Make the Glaze (Optional)

  1. Whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  2. Drizzle over the warm fritters or dip the tops into the glaze.
  3. Let the glaze set for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Tips

  • Use firm apples like Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Fuji for the best texture.
  • Do not overmix the batter to keep the fritters light and tender.
  • If making multiple batches, keep cooked fritters warm in a 100°C (210°F) oven until ready to serve.
  • Best enjoyed warm on the day they are made.
