Crispy Air Fryer Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold), cut into 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes or wedges
  • 1–2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash the potatoes. Peel them if you prefer, or leave the skin on for extra texture.
  2. Cut into evenly sized pieces.
  3. Pat the potatoes dry with a towel.
  4. Toss with the oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 3 minutes if your model recommends preheating.
  6. Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the basket. Avoid overcrowding.
  7. Air fry for 18–25 minutes, shaking the basket every 6–8 minutes. The potatoes are done when they’re golden brown on the outside and tender inside.
  8. Taste and add a little more salt and pepper if needed before serving.

Tips

  • For even crispier potatoes, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 20–30 minutes, then dry them thoroughly before adding the oil and seasonings.
  • Cooking time depends on the size of the potato pieces and your air fryer, so start checking around the 18-minute mark.

These potatoes pair well with burgers, grilled chicken, steak, or can be enjoyed on their own with ketchup, mayonnaise, or your favorite dipping sauce.
