Crispy Air Fryer Potatoes
Ingredients
- 2 medium potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold), cut into 1-inch (2.5 cm) cubes or wedges
- 1–2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Wash the potatoes. Peel them if you prefer, or leave the skin on for extra texture.
- Cut into evenly sized pieces.
- Pat the potatoes dry with a towel.
- Toss with the oil, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 3 minutes if your model recommends preheating.
- Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the basket. Avoid overcrowding.
- Air fry for 18–25 minutes, shaking the basket every 6–8 minutes. The potatoes are done when they’re golden brown on the outside and tender inside.
- Taste and add a little more salt and pepper if needed before serving.
Tips
- For even crispier potatoes, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for 20–30 minutes, then dry them thoroughly before adding the oil and seasonings.
- Cooking time depends on the size of the potato pieces and your air fryer, so start checking around the 18-minute mark.
These potatoes pair well with burgers, grilled chicken, steak, or can be enjoyed on their own with ketchup, mayonnaise, or your favorite dipping sauce.
