Air Fryer Crispy Halloumi Fries

Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225 g) halloumi cheese
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano (optional)
  • Cooking oil spray
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

For Serving (Optional)

  • Sweet chili sauce
  • Garlic yogurt dip
  • Marinara sauce
  • Ranch dressing
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer
    • Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Halloumi
    • Cut the halloumi into fry-shaped strips, about ½ inch (1–1.5 cm) thick.
  3. Set Up the Coating
    • Place the flour in one shallow bowl.
    • Beat the eggs in a second bowl.
    • In a third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and oregano.
  4. Bread the Fries
    • Coat each halloumi strip in flour, shaking off the excess.
    • Dip into the beaten egg.
    • Press into the seasoned panko until fully coated.
  5. Air Fry
    • Lightly spray both sides of the coated halloumi fries with cooking oil.
    • Arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece.
    • Air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Serve
    • Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
    • Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce and lemon wedges.
