Air Fryer Chili Lime Chicken Strips

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 lb (450 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Zest of 1 lime
  • 2 tbsp fresh lime juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime zest, lime juice, garlic, chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the chicken strips and toss until evenly coated. Marinate for 15–30 minutes for the best flavor.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  4. Arrange the chicken strips in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between them.
  5. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Let the chicken rest for 2–3 minutes, then garnish with chopped cilantro and an extra squeeze of lime.

Serving Ideas

  • With cilantro-lime rice
  • In tacos with avocado and slaw
  • Over a fresh salad
  • With roasted vegetables
  • Alongside chipotle mayo or Greek yogurt-lime dip

Tips

  • Avoid overcrowding the basket—cook in batches if needed.
  • Thin strips cook faster, so start checking at the 8-minute mark.
  • For extra browning, lightly spray the chicken with cooking oil before air frying.
