Ingredients (Makes 4 pastries)
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 4 slices ham
- 4 slices cheddar, Swiss, or mozzarella cheese
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)
- Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Pastries
- Roll out the puff pastry slightly if needed.
- Cut it into 4 equal squares.
- Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each square (optional).
- Place a slice of ham and a slice of cheese on one half of each square.
- Fold the pastry over to form a rectangle or triangle.
- Seal the edges with a fork.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Sprinkle with oregano or sesame seeds if desired.
2. Air Fry
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3–5 minutes.
- Place the pastries in the basket, leaving space between them.
- Air fry at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.
If making multiple batches, keep the cooked pastries on a wire rack to stay crisp.

Tips
- Chill the assembled pastries for 10 minutes before air frying for a flakier texture.
- Avoid overfilling to prevent the cheese from leaking out.
- If the tops brown too quickly, reduce the temperature to 170°C (340°F) for the last few minutes.
- Let the pastries rest for 2–3 minutes before serving, as the filling will be very hot.
