Air Fryer Mashed Potato Balls

Air Fryer Mashed Potato Balls

Air fryer mashed potato balls are a crispy, golden snack made from creamy mashed potatoes shaped into bite-sized balls and air-fried until crunchy on the outside. Inside, they stay soft, fluffy, and often filled with cheese or herbs, creating a satisfying contrast in every bite. They are a great way to use leftover mashed potatoes in a creative and delicious form.

The key to perfect potato balls is texture. The mashed potatoes should be thick and not too watery so they hold their shape well. Adding a bit of cornstarch, cheese, or breadcrumbs helps bind the mixture and improves crispiness once air-fried. Seasoning is also important, as it enhances the mild flavor of the potatoes.

Air frying gives these potato balls a deep-fried taste without excess oil. The circulating hot air creates a crunchy crust while keeping the inside soft and warm. A light spray of oil before cooking helps achieve that golden, restaurant-style finish.

These bites are extremely versatile. They can be served as snacks, appetizers, party food, or side dishes. They pair well with dips like garlic mayo, ketchup, chili sauce, or cheese dip, making them popular for gatherings and quick snacks.
