Air Fryer Meringue

Air Fryer Meringue

Crispy and crunchy on the outside, with a soft, marshmallow-like center—these air fryer meringues are light, sweet, and easy to make.

Ingredients (Makes 10–12 Meringues)

  • 2 large egg whites (room temperature)
  • 100 g (½ cup) granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp cream of tartar (optional, for stability)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Make the Meringue

  1. In a clean, grease-free bowl, beat the egg whites and salt until foamy.
  2. Add the cream of tartar (if using).
  3. Gradually add the sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, while beating continuously.
  4. Beat until stiff, glossy peaks form.
  5. Gently mix in the vanilla extract.

2. Shape

  1. Line the air fryer basket with perforated parchment paper.
  2. Pipe or spoon small meringue nests or dollops onto the parchment, leaving space between each one.

3. Air Fry

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 120°C (250°F).
  2. Air fry the meringues for 40 minutes.
  3. Once cooked, turn off the air fryer and leave the meringues inside with the basket closed for 20–30 minutes to cool gradually. This helps prevent cracking.
