Airfryer biscuits

Ingredients (Makes 8 Biscuits)

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)
  • ½ cup (115 g) cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) cold milk or buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

1. Make the Dough

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Cut the cold butter into the flour using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Gradually stir in the cold milk until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.

2. Shape the Biscuits

  1. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface.
  2. Gently pat it into a 1-inch (2.5 cm) thick rectangle.
  3. Fold the dough in half 2–3 times for flaky layers.
  4. Pat it back to 1-inch thickness.
  5. Cut out biscuits using a 2½-inch (6 cm) biscuit cutter or a drinking glass.

3. Air Fry

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 170°C (340°F) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Lightly grease the air fryer basket or line it with perforated parchment paper.
  3. Arrange the biscuits in a single layer, leaving a little space between them.
  4. Air fry at 170°C (340°F) for 10–12 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

4. Finish

  • Brush the hot biscuits with melted butter immediately after cooking.
  • Let them cool for 2–3 minutes before serving.
