Ingredients (2 servings)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 8 oz (225 g) Italian sausage or ground beef
- ½ small onion, diced
- ½ green bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ cup pizza sauce or marinara
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 20 slices pepperoni (optional)
- ¼ cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 tbsp sliced black olives
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
- Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the sausage or beef until browned.
- Add onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Drain excess grease if needed.
- Divide the pizza sauce between two oven-safe ramekins or small baking dishes.
- Layer the cooked meat and vegetables over the sauce.
- Add olives and pepperoni if using.
- Top generously with mozzarella, Parmesan, and Italian seasoning.
- Bake for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- Broil for 1–2 minutes for a golden, slightly crispy top (optional).
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
