Simple Green Juice

Simple Green Juice

This clean green juice uses simple ingredients to deliver a hydrating boost. It strikes the perfect balance between leafy greens and a touch of natural sweetness from fresh apples and lemon.

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh spinach or kale (stems removed if using kale)
  • 1 large English cucumber, cut into chunks
  • 2 medium green apples (such as Granny Smith), cored and chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 medium lemon, peeled
  • ½ inch fresh ginger root, peeled
  • 1 to 1½ cups cold water (if using a blender)
  • (Optional) Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

Method 1: Using a Blender (Most Common)

  1. Load the Blender: Place the cucumber chunks and cold water at the bottom of the blender first (this helps the blades run smoothly), followed by the celery, apples, lemon, ginger, and spinach.
  2. Blend: Blend on high speed for 60 to 90 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and liquid.
  3. Strain: Place a nut milk bag, fine-mesh strainer, or cheesecloth over a large pitcher or bowl. Pour the blended green mixture through it and squeeze/press out all the juice, discarding the remaining pulp.
  4. Serve: Pour over ice and enjoy immediately!

Method 2: Using a Juicer

  1. Prep: Wash all ingredients thoroughly.
  2. Juice: Feed the spinach, ginger, lemon, celery, cucumber, and apples through your juicer according to the machine’s instructions.
  3. Serve: Stir the juice well, pour over ice, and drink fresh!

Tips & Variations

  • Drink Fresh: Green juice tastes best and retains the most nutrients when consumed immediately. You can store leftovers in an airtight glass jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours.
  • Adjust Sweetness: If you prefer a less sweet, lower-sugar juice, swap one of the apples for an extra stalk of celery or half a cucumber.
  • Boost the Flavor: Add a small handful of fresh mint leaves or parsley before blending for an extra burst of herbal freshness.
