Hibiscus Tea with Bay Leaves and Cinnamon
Ingredients
- 4 cups (1 liter) water
- ¼ cup dried hibiscus flowers
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 2–3 bay leaves
- 1–2 tablespoons honey, sugar, or sweetener (optional)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon or lime slices (optional)
Instructions
- Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan.
- Add the hibiscus flowers, cinnamon sticks, and bay leaves.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let steep for another 10 minutes.
- Strain out the hibiscus, cinnamon, and bay leaves.
- Sweeten to taste if desired.
- Allow the tea to cool completely.
- Pour over ice and serve.

- Add a few slices of fresh ginger while simmering.
- Add orange peel for a citrus note.
- Mix with sparkling water after chilling for a refreshing spritzer.
