Crispy Air Fried Catfish
Ingredients
- 2 catfish fillets
- ½ cup cornmeal
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 egg
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Pat the catfish fillets dry with paper towels.
- In a bowl, whisk the egg.
- In another bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Dip each catfish fillet into the egg.
- Coat the fillets well with the cornmeal mixture. Press gently so the coating sticks.
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the catfish fillets in the basket in a single layer. Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray.
- Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 10–14 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Cook until the coating is golden and crispy and the fish reaches 145°F (63°C) inside.
- Serve hot with lemon wedges, tartar sauce, or your favorite dipping sauce.
Tip
Do not overcrowd the basket. Leave space between the fillets so hot air can circulate and make the coating extra crispy.
