Hearty Chicken and Gravy: A Comfort Food Classic (Air Fryer Version)

Ingredients

  • 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 packet chicken gravy mix
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter, sliced
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Equipment

  • Air fryer-safe baking dish (7–8 inch)
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

  1. Preheat Air Fryer
    • Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Season Chicken
    • Pat chicken breasts dry.
    • Season both sides with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika.
  3. Prepare Gravy
    • In a bowl, whisk together:
      • Cream of chicken soup
      • Chicken gravy mix
      • Chicken broth
    • Mix until smooth.
  4. Air Fry Chicken with Gravy
    • Place chicken breasts in an air fryer-safe baking dish.
    • Pour gravy mixture over the chicken.
    • Place butter slices on top.
    • Cover loosely with foil.
    • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 30–40 minutes, depending on chicken thickness.
  5. Finish Cooking
    • Remove foil during the last 5–10 minutes to thicken the gravy.
    • Check that chicken reaches 165°F (74°C) internal temperature.
    • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
