Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or sourdough)
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon butter or olive oil
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- ¼ teaspoon paprika or chili flakes (optional)
- 2 tablespoons shredded cheese (optional)
- Fresh herbs (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Toast
- Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (180°C) for 3 minutes.
- Lightly butter or brush one side of each bread slice with olive oil.
- Press the center of each bread slice gently with a spoon to create a small pocket for the egg.
2. Add the Egg
- Place the bread slices in the air fryer basket.
- Carefully crack one egg into the center of each slice.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and paprika or chili flakes.
- Add shredded cheese on top if desired.
3. Air Fry
- Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for 6–8 minutes:
- 6 minutes for a soft/runny yolk
- 8 minutes for a firmer yolk
- Check the egg and continue cooking for 1–2 more minutes if needed.
4. Serve
- Remove the egg toast carefully from the air fryer.
- Garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
- Serve hot with tea, coffee, or your favorite breakfast sides.
