- 150 g (5 oz) ham, thinly sliced or diced
- 150 g (5 oz) cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyère cheese, grated
- 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ½ tsp dried parsley or Italian seasoning (optional)
- Cooking spray or a little oil
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Pastry
- Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) for 3 minutes.
- Lightly flour a work surface and unfold the puff pastry.
- Cut it into 8 equal rectangles or squares.
Step 2: Add the Filling
- Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on one half of each pastry (optional).
- Add a layer of ham.
- Top with the grated cheese.
- Sprinkle with garlic powder or dried parsley if desired.
Step 3: Seal the Pockets
- Fold each pastry over the filling to form a pocket.
- Press the edges firmly with a fork to seal.
- Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
- Cut 2 small slits on top of each pocket to allow steam to escape.
Step 4: Air Fry
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Arrange the pastry pockets in a single layer, leaving space between them.
Air Fry:
- 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes
- Flip carefully after 6 minutes if your air fryer browns unevenly.
- Cook until the pastry is puffed and deep golden brown.
Step 5: Serve
