Ingredients
- ½ cup (113 g) butter, softened
- 1⅔ cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1½ teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon sugar (optional, for topping)
Equipment
- 7-inch (18 cm) round cake pan that fits your air fryer
- Parchment paper (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Grease and lightly flour a 7-inch cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.
- Arrange the apple slices over the top, pressing them slightly into the batter. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar if using.
- Air fry at 320°F (160°C) for 30–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. If the top browns too quickly, loosely cover it with aluminum foil during the last 10–15 minutes.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing. Cool further on a wire rack.
