Ingredients
- 2 slices whole wheat or sourdough bread
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese (or a mix)
- 1 tbsp softened butter (optional, for extra crispness)

- ½ tsp dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)
- Pinch of black pepper
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven or toaster oven to 400°F (200°C), or set the broiler to high.
- Lightly butter the bread if using.
- Sprinkle the cheese evenly over each slice.
- Add garlic powder, oregano, and black pepper if desired.
- Bake for 5–8 minutes, or broil for 2–3 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
- Garnish with parsley and serve immediately.
