Ingredients
Chicken
- 1½ lb (680 g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, sliced into strips
- 2 tbsp plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp paprika
- ½ tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Tzatziki
- 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt
- ½ cucumber, grated and squeezed dry
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill (or 1 tsp dried dill)
- Salt and pepper
For Serving
- Whole wheat pita or low-carb pita (optional)
- Lettuce leaves (for a low-carb wrap)
- Sliced tomatoes
- Sliced cucumber
- Red onion, thinly sliced
- Crumbled feta cheese (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, cumin, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the chicken and marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator).
- Cook the chicken in a hot skillet or on a grill for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through (internal temperature 165°F/74°C).
- While the chicken cooks, mix all the tzatziki ingredients in a bowl and refrigerate until ready to use.
- Serve the chicken in a pita or lettuce wrap with tzatziki, tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and a sprinkle of feta if desired.
