Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
- 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- 1 tablespoon milk or melted butter (for brushing, optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Dough
- In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast.
- Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
2. First Rise
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl.
- Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes, or until doubled in size.
3. Shape the Bread
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a small loaf that fits your air fryer basket.
- Place it in a greased air fryer-safe loaf pan or small baking dish.
- Cover and let it rise again for 20–30 minutes.
- Brush the top with milk or melted butter for a golden crust.
4. Air Fry the Bread
- Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Place the loaf pan in the air fryer basket.
- Air fry for 25–35 minutes until golden brown.
- Check that the internal temperature reaches about 190°F (88°C).
- If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil during the last part of cooking.
5. Cool and Serve
- Remove the bread from the pan.
- Let it cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with butter, jam, cheese, or your favorite spread.
