Baking bread in airfryer

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
  • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon milk or melted butter (for brushing, optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Dough

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast.
  2. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add flour, salt, and olive oil.
  4. Mix until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

2. First Rise

  1. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl.
  2. Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 45–60 minutes, or until doubled in size.

3. Shape the Bread

  1. Punch down the dough and shape it into a small loaf that fits your air fryer basket.
  2. Place it in a greased air fryer-safe loaf pan or small baking dish.
  3. Cover and let it rise again for 20–30 minutes.
  4. Brush the top with milk or melted butter for a golden crust.

4. Air Fry the Bread

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 320°F (160°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  2. Place the loaf pan in the air fryer basket.
  3. Air fry for 25–35 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Check that the internal temperature reaches about 190°F (88°C).
  5. If the top browns too quickly, cover loosely with foil during the last part of cooking.

5. Cool and Serve

  1. Remove the bread from the pan.
  2. Let it cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
  3. Serve with butter, jam, cheese, or your favorite spread.
