Air Fryer Chicken Wings: Quick & Crispy

Air Fryer Chicken Wings: Quick & Crispy

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (900 g) chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (aluminum-free, for extra crispiness)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp chili powder or cayenne pepper (optional)

Optional Sauces

  • Buffalo sauce
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Honey garlic sauce
  • Ranch or blue cheese dressing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Wings
    • Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. This helps them become extra crispy.
    • In a large bowl, toss the wings with baking powder, olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and chili powder.
  2. Preheat the Air Fryer
    • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes.
  3. Air Fry the Wings
    • Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding.
    • Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 20–25 minutes, shaking the basket or flipping the wings every 5–7 minutes.
    • Cook until the wings are golden brown, crispy, and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  4. Add Sauce (Optional)
    • Toss the crispy wings with your favorite sauce while they are still hot.
    • For extra sticky wings, return them to the air fryer for 2–3 minutes after saucing.
  5. Serve
    • Serve immediately with ranch or blue cheese dressing and fresh vegetable sticks like celery and carrots.
