Ingredients
- 2 lbs (900 g) lean ground beef or thinly sliced sirloin steak
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 large onion, sliced (optional for lower carb: use less)
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (for extra protein and creaminess)
- 2 cups shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Heat oil in a large pan. Cook the steak or ground beef until browned.
- Add onion, bell pepper, mushrooms, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are soft.
- Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Mix cream cheese and Greek yogurt until smooth.
- Combine the beef mixture with the cream cheese mixture.
- Transfer to a baking dish and top with provolone and cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
